This post is a tutorial on how to add resource packs to Minecraft Java Edition.

If you've followed the instructions and the pack still is not working, check to make sure that there is not a folder nested inside the Faithful folder. This may sometimes occur with how the download is set up. If there is, move it to the main resourcepacks folder.

Can you play xbox on chromebook. If you want just the pathnames directly to the resource pack folders, they are:
Windows 10: Press ⊞+R (windows+r) and paste %appdata%.minecraftresourcepacks
macOS: open Finder and press ⌘+⇧+G (command+shift+g) and paste ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/resourcepacks

Here are the steps for each OS:

Windows 10:

  1. First, download the pack from the addon page. Make sure Minecraft is not open when you do this.
  2. Next press ⊞+R (windows+r)
  3. Enter %appdata%.minecraftresourcepacks
  4. Drag or paste the .zip file into the resourcepacks folder.
  5. Some resource packs will not need this, but for the official Faithful download at least, unzip it and go into the folder
  6. Delete .gitignore and .DS_Store if either of them are inside of it
  7. Open minecraft and navigate to the Resource pack settings
  8. Apply the resource packs. Faithful should be at the bottom and any addon resource packs should be above it.
  9. Click 'Done' and you should be able to play
